I used to ‘read’ the dictionary during silent reading time in second grade. ‘Read’ as in pretending I’m reading the dictionary to make me seem smarter than I am. It fooled no one. I was sent to the special ed reading class. And when I say special needs I mean very special. They were too good. They saw right through me. My little game.
