What do you think the best excuse is when you’re trying to get out of something?
My personal favorite, albeit not the most believable, has to be ‘Sorry I can’t make it. I’ve got my grandma’s graduation.’ Graduation?? Graduation from what? The nursing home? Life? There are so many questions to that statement that the person who asked you to do something completely forgets all about whatever they asked you to do and gets caught up in a whirlwind of confusion. ‘What is his grandma graduating from?’ Works like a charm.
My boss isn’t in today, nor will she be in tomorrow, so I’m gonna try to keep myself busy. It will be hard, considering this job has little to offer outside of constant boredom and the ever looming fear of becoming just another ‘cog in the corporate machine.’ I won’t let that happen. It is a scary thought. But a thought nonetheless. I can either complain about it or I can actively increase my skill set and capabilities to try to build a more desirable future. I choose the ladder. That being said, let’s get this money.
